County jail passes state inspection; rehab program sees success
Sunday, August 30, 2015
Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box and his crew met Friday to examine their program that prepares inmates to become productive citizens upon their release. The old jail building is being modified to provide those inmates accepted into the program a place to live, eat, watch TV, and have other privileges not usually afforded to inmates. Limited to non-violent offenders and those with miscellaneous crimes, the program is modeled after other successful programs in Tennessee.
