Dyer County Leadership welcomes new class Thursday

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

The Alumni of Dyer County Leadership will welcome the Leadership Class of 2016-2017 this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Lannom Center. The Evening Mixer is the first time the leadership class gets together for their nine-month journey through all things Dyer County. The Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce has trained over 500 leaders since 1987 with a resource-based, team-building program that connects leaders with their community. Adult Leadership class members learn about Agriculture, Industry, Local and State Government, Education, Healthcare, and Law Enforcement by connecting with various leaders in each field. Many industries and companies locally consider Dyer County Leadership to be an extension of their own leadership training. Steve Guttery, Leadership Program Director for the Chamber said, "We take a group of acquaintances and turn them into a team. We equip them with the resources to get things done. It's not a rule that we become friends for life, but it happens!"
